Five Years of Celebrating Learning: Project LINGAP Continues to Transform Young Lives

For five years, Project LINGAP (Laging Inaakay, Nililingap, Ginagabayan, Ang mga Pag-asa ng Bayan) has stood as a beacon of hope for children from the marginalized community of the Pasay Municipal Cemetery. What began as a simple vision to bridge learning gaps has grown into a meaningful movement dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream beyond their circumstances. Inspired by the story of thriving passion for learning and paying it forward by its first project Chair, JCI Perlas Pasay Past President Nhanelyn Bontoyan.

Launched by 21st Century Teachers and JCI Perlas Pasay, Project LINGAP is the organization’s flagship literacy and numeracy intervention program. Through volunteer-led learning sessions, educational activities, and community partnerships, the project provides children with academic support while nurturing their confidence, curiosity, and love for learning.

This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate five years of transforming lives through education. Over the years, hundreds of volunteer hours have been devoted to creating safe learning spaces where children can strengthen their reading, writing, and numeracy skills while discovering their potential. The project has also brought together educators, partners, donors, and community volunteers who share the belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Beyond improving academic skills, Project LINGAP has fostered meaningful relationships within the community, empowering families and inspiring young learners to pursue brighter futures. Each learning session is a reminder that with compassion, collaboration, and consistent support, lasting change is possible.

As JCI Perlas Pasay celebrates this five-year journey, we honor every volunteer, partner, sponsor, educator, and community member who has become part of this mission. Your unwavering commitment has helped turn classrooms into places of hope and opportunities into lifelong impact.

Together, we celebrate five years of learning, five years of service, and five years of believing that every child deserves the chance to succeed. As we look ahead, Project LINGAP remains committed to empowering more young minds and creating even greater impact — one learner, one family, and one community at a time.
