LIKHA NG PAG-ASA
LIKHA NG PAG-ASA
“Creating Hope Through Art.”
Likha ng Pag-Asa, which translates to “Creating Hope,” is a signature initiative of JCI Perlas Pasay that uses arts and crafts as a platform for children to express themselves, discover their creativity, and build hope for a brighter future.
The journey began on March 26, during the children’s summer break, with the first leg of the program. The children selected their favorite characters and brought them to life on canvas through painting. While each artwork was inspired by a beloved character, every color, brushstroke, and creative choice became a unique expression of their personalities, interests, and imagination, allowing them to build confidence while exploring the joy of art.
For the second leg, the children came together once again for a fun and meaningful bracelet-making workshop, where they shared snacks, stories, and laughter with some of our L.I.N.G.A.P. graduates. The activity became even more memorable with the presence of our friends from JCI Seoul Dongdaemun—2026 President Lee Hyun-su, 2023 Past President Lee Chulyong, and 2026 Secretary General Da-sol Kim. VP Jhanamie introduced the children to a few Korean words while sharing stories about Korea.
This simple yet meaningful cultural exchange allowed the children to learn about another country, make new friends, and experience the beauty of connecting across cultures.
We also held a toy gift-giving activity for the younger children in the community, bringing smiles and joy to their day.
More than an arts and crafts program, Likha ng Pag-Asa is about nurturing creativity, inspiring confidence, and creating meaningful connections. Every bracelet tells a story of friendship, every painting reflects a child’s unique interests and imagination, and every shared moment reminds us that hope can be created through kindness, learning, and service.
We are deeply grateful to our friends from JCI Seoul Dongdaemun for taking the time to visit one of our adopted communities in Pasay and experience the joy of meeting the children in our community. As we celebrate 35 years of friendship and partnership, this visit became more than a community activity—it became a celebration of cultural exchange, shared service, and the lasting bonds that unite our organizations.
Every creation tells a story. Every act of kindness inspires hope. Together, we create a brighter future—one child, one friendship, and one masterpiece at a time.
